WHAT CAN WE DO AND CANNOT DO IN A CAMPERVAN IN MENORCA?
We have noticed that many campervan drivers and lovers ask the same questions: Can I park and live in my campervan where I want to? What can I do and what cannot I do? That's why it's important to know a couple of little things that will go well for us to be able to enjoy our campervans peacefully! The traffic law considers that: "As long as any vehicle is properly parked, without exceeding the road markings of the parking area, or the temporary limitation of the parking area (if any) its occupants can be inside it. In addition, the motorhome is not an exception; it is ok if the activity that happens inside does not transcend to the outside by exposing elements that overflow the perimeter of the vehicle such as awnings, levelling devices, supports, chairs, tables, etc. »
This means that, while our campervan is well parked, and we do not exceed the limits of our parking, they cannot tell us anything about cooking or sleeping inside, we will be staying overnight. What is not allowed is to setup everything around the campervan as well as awning, tables, chairs, casement windows ... as we have already explained. If this occurs, the rules of each municipality would apply and an economic fine too. One of the issues that is not very clear is about the possibility of raising or not the roof of the campervan.
