Discover the “Valle de Aran” with a camper07/08/2018
Have you ever been to the “Valle de Aran”? It is one of the best destinations to enjoy the Pyrenees in summer. The mild temperatures and the speechless landscapes make this Pyrenean valley an ideal place to disconnect from the routine and spend unforgettable days with family and friends.
Going to the “Valle de Aran” with a campervan means that you can travel, cook and sleep when and where you decide. We want to introduce you some routes that will help you to know more about this area of the Pyrenees which is full of charming villages, mountains, lakes and crystalline rivers, and great examples of Gothic and Romanesque architecture.
Recommended routes to do with a campervan in “Valle de Aran”:
1- Vielha, the capital with a unique charm, is a mandatory stop. It concentrates 40% of the population. You will be surprised by its historical center, the architecture of its old houses, its narrow streets and, above all, the spectacular church of San Miquèu. Park your campervan and get lost in Vielha: you will be amazed. To sleep, we recommend you to stop at Verneda Camping Mountain Resort, in Pont d'Arròs. It is located a few kilometers from Vielha, specifically on the N-230 road.
2- Route through the forest of Baricabua: 1 km from Vielha, you will find the village of Gausac. From there you can access the forest of Baricabua, one of the most attractive natural sites in the “Valle de Aran”. If you want to bathe in completely transparent waters, you can go to the Bassa d'Oles, an ideal lake to cool off during the summer.
15 minutes from Gausac you will find the Camping Era Yera de Arties, a small, familiar and quiet place to stop with the motorhome.
3- Route Molières-Conangles: Tuc de Molières is one of the most visited valleys, as it has very easy access and it is the only one whose waters end up in the Noguera Ribagorzana river. If you take attention, you will be able see a truly spectacular beech forest in your left.
4- Romanesque Route: Along the “Valle de Aran” there are up to 15 Romanesque churches with a lot of history, which is worth discovering. During the summer, guided tours are organized for each of them. However, there are 5 essentials churches: Santa Maria de Arties, the church of San Miquèu, San Andrèu de Salardú, Era Mair de Diu de Purificación and San Eulalia de Unha.
Can you imagine dining in the middle of nowhere, under a sky full of stars? Go ahead and travel with your campervan. Share the experience with anyone you want and spend some unique days surrounded by nature in the “Valle de Aran”
